A Prayer Slot is a time that you commit to pray for one hour in your own space, and join a prayer chain to contend for revival in the church in the West. You can book your Prayer Slot below, today.

How did 24/7 prayer start?

Throughout the season of Lent, the Prayer Team at Church of the City New York came together to run 24/7 prayer. We felt an urgent call to begin this coverage in February, and we saw so much fruit and breakthrough across our community. As we move into a new season, we not only have a hunger, but a vision, to continue 24/7 prayer indefinitely.

The Moravians, one of our reference points for communities seeking God, ran a 24/7 prayer chain for 100 years, and launched the first Protestant missions movement. As our church longs to see the fame and deeds of God renewed and known in our time, we recognize this only happens through faithful and united prayer, and we would love to invite you to join us.

  • We believe that God wants to send revival to the church in the West. We are inspired by the Moravians, who maintained a 24/7 prayer chain over 100 years that led to cultural renewal and a global missions movement.

  • We are asking God for revival and awakening in New York City and the Western world. Here are a few scriptures you can use as starting points.

    Pray for the weight of the Word to fall on hearts when it is read or spoken.

    Pray for the conviction of sin, and the grace to sit under the weight of conviction.

    Pray for Godly sorrow that leads to salvation to be poured out.

  • 24/7 Prayer Slots are a time for people to intercede as individuals in their own spaces, while Prayer Sets in the Prayer Room are set aside for corporate intercession.

  • No, the Prayer Room is only open for corporate Prayer Sets. (See the schedule at pray.nyc)

  • You are welcome to pray anywhere! Praying at home or prayer walking through a neighborhood are some of our favorite practices.

  • If praying for an hour feels like a stretch for you, please start by attending a weekly Prayer Set in the Prayer Room (417 W 57th Street). Prayer sets are designed as a space to learn how to pray.

  • You can sign up for a Prayer Slot up to 30 days in advance.

  • Yes! Only one of you will need to book the slot, you can add guests on the calendly booking page and you are welcome to coordinate on your own if you would like to pray with others during your hour.

  • If you sign up for a Prayer Slot that you are no longer able to cover, cancel by clicking “cancel appointment” or “reschedule” on your invite or through the calendly booking page.
